    Description

    1858 Flying Eagle Cent, Large Letters.  Struck from the "Broken Wingtip" Hub noted in Snow. This is the same hub used to strike the 1858/7 overdates, however this is NOT to be confused with that variety.
    Perhaps a bit oddly enough for an 1858 Cent, this appears to not be any kind of variety at all!  No doubled dies, significant rotation, cuds, etc., although it shows a strong die crack at the date.  A nice looking coin and in any case perhaps useful as a study aid to help distinguish from the 1858/7.  Certainly suitable as a nice Type example.
