    Description

This is a nice framed piece of beadwork and stitching on red cloth done by an Indian of the Northeast woodland.  I acquired it as it is from a local antique center about 15 years ago.  I've never had it out of the antique frame it's in.  I don't know the age of it but it's certainly not recently made.  The outside of the frame is 14 1/8" x 12 1/8" and the inside is 9 3/8" x 7 7/16".  There is a double meandering black and white line inside a straight white border line.  These can be seen at one side on the front and at one end at the back where the fabric protrudes from the backing board.  There is illegible writing on the back of the frame but I don't know whether its anything to do with the present framed item. Really the piece should be put into a larger frame so all the borders can be seen too.  Nice.
