    Description

These are what are known as Harney massacre trade or seed beads. They are original beads recovered from the site of a trading post that was established on the Caloosahatchee river in Florida. There had been a lot of problems with the Seminole Indians in the area but the ones that came to trade at the post seemed to be friendly. A detachment of 23 soldiers was stationed at the trading post under Colonel William S. Harney. On July 23, 1839 some 150 indians attacked the trading post and guard. Most of the soldiers as well as a number of civilians were killed.
I have a few 18 inch long strands of these and though you may not receive the exact one in the picture they are all alike. I guarantee these to be authentic as stated and offer a no questions asked return policy for 30 days from date of purchase.
