    Description

A string of what appears to be (19) very old American Indian trade beads, most probably from the Seminole Tribe in Florida. This 15" string, threaded on a cord, each marine shell (detaliaum or abalone perhaps, approx. 1" cylindrical, tube-shaped) separated by small, blue, French pony beads.
I'm not an expert on beadwork, but I did acquire these about 10 years ago from an old Indian trader who had a sizable following for many decades. Blue beads are often thought to enhance fertility.
Quite special, age and authenticity are evident.
