Presented for your consideration is this interesting antique spinning wheel. The spinning wheel is a smaller model and has a classic design with the wheel at one end and the bobbin at the other. The base has three carved legs that stick out from a platform with a smaller foot pedal running between the legs. In the center of the spinning wheel is a 18 1/4" in diameter wooden spoke style wheel that is secured in place with two carved posts. The wheel itself has a two 1/4" wide grooves in it. The spinning wheel is completed with a wood bobbin. Bobbin is held in place with 2 leather straps that feed through the wooden poles. All moving parts move with ease. This neat spinning wheel is guaranteed to be antique and would make a great addition to any primitive or spinning wheel collection!
Missing the flyer and distaff. Foot pedal has separated due to torn leather straps. A small crack is in the end of the bobbin and a smaller crack is on the side edge of the wheel. Bottom of one leg has some chipping. Typical wear from age and use. Overall in VERY GOOD condition. Sold as found. Please refer to the photos for the absolute best details.
Measures approximately 35" wide at the widest point, 18" deep at the legs and 32 1/2" tall.
